Psychotherapy in Brixton, South London and Central London Dan Bracken, UKCP reg. Psychotherapist

"Dan is an experienced psychotherapist, with past experience as a mental health professional, service manager, leader and coach. In 2021 he set up the London centre of a therapy service for men called James’ Place, leading the therapy team there for over four years and for periods covering as National Clinical Lead. He is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering sessions in Brixton, South London as well as the City of London, on Fleet Street. Dan also delivers training for counsellors and psychotherapists as well as NHS staff"

What’s my approach? I enjoy working with people who want to explore more about themselves and their lives to answer ongoing questions, knots, symptoms or pattern. Most simply, sessions are a place to come and speak. This might be to say something that doesn't have words yet or seem too big and complicated to talk about. It is a confidential space and the therapy can be as long or short as it needs to be

Where do we start? On first meeting we start by thinking in detail about what you want to come and talk about. The initial part of the work is usually understanding where what you want to talk about in fits into the wider context of your life. From here we need to begin reflecting and asking unasked questions - kindly, bravely, with space and time. It is hard to say how long someone will need because everyone needs to go at a different pace. Sometimes it is productive to set a time limit, sometimes not.
